City of Plymouth Trophy
The City of Plymouth Trophy appears in the Yearbooks as a new trophy in the 1990 season, first recorded as being presented to the 1990 National Championships winner. In later Yearbooks, it is recorded as an open meeting/area prize, specifically “1st Helm, South Coast”, with named winners in 1993 and 1994 (as reported in the following Yearbooks).
In the “Trophies List 1990”, it is recorded as awarded to S. Howes for “1st Nationals”. By the early 1990s, the trophy was recorded against the South Coast circuit, listed as “1st Helm” (1993 winner: Brian Earl, as reported in the 1994 Yearbook), and in the 1995 Yearbook as “1st Helm, South Coast” (recorded as in Faulkner / J. Meachen, Silver Fleet).
