Javelins lead the way!
Javelins arrived at Lymington Town Sailing Club on Saturday the 9th of July to a warm welcome for the 2022 Lymington Town Dinghy Regatta.
The forecast for the two days were a light breeze from the north west with a hope of the midday sea breeze filling in.
The regatta was very well organised by the two clubs, the Lymington Town Sailing Club and the Royal Lymington Yacht Club. Two courses were organised East and West, West for slower fleets and East for the faster fleets. A team of slipway marshals coordinated the launching and recovery of the dinghies, providing a trolley valet service for all boats.

With light variable breeze, best route finding was crucial to avoid being handicapped by the 1.5-2 knot tidal flow. Races were 40 minutes or 3 rounding each, but with the postponed starts and sails to and from the race course, sailing lasted about 4 1/2 hours each day, but it is a great place to sail with many super yachts to admire . Blue sea, blue sky and bright sunshine - everything we could want.
Also on the fast handicap race course were RS800's , RS700's , RS500's, Devoti D-One's , RS400's, Laser 4000's, a 29er, an Alto and an National 18 Ultra.
